In Word, go to View > Toolbars > EndNote (see image below). This will bring out the EndNote toolbar in MS Word.

If EndNote is not listed as a toolbar option, or if you have the latest version of MS Word for Mac (2016), follow the instructions to restore the toolbar (or Ribbon Tab) provided by EndNote

  1. These instructions are helpful but had an additional issue where the EndNote toolbar was greyed out after enabling it. Restarting Word fixed this problem. Hope this helps you guys!
