There is an anomaly between the KAUST email and that in the system which is where I expect the problem lies. Both are valid but serve different purposes which can be confusing.
Please try signing in using portal username email@example.com which will be your network login and the password you set. If you need to reset the password, please remember it needs a minimum of 3 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, and numbers.
